The International Council on Archives Section on University and Research Institution Archives (ICA/SUV) is pleased to announce that a number of bursaries are available to assist with the costs of attending this year's conference being held in Rio de Janeiro from 9-11 September.  The criteria for applications and further details are below. Please note that the closing date for applications is 20 August.

Criteria for SUV Bursaries: Conference 2009 Rio De Janeiro

 

The bursary will be a contribution to the costs of attending the conference.  Depending on the number of successful candidates this is likely to be up to 500 Euros.

 

The bursaries will be awarded on a competitive basis to archivists and records managers who meet the following criteria:

 

• a speaker at the Conference and
• a member of SUV and
• unable to get financial support from their employer

 

OR

 

• a student on an archives or records management educational programme

 

OR

 

• newly qualified (within two years of qualifying)

 

 

Applications from those eligible should be emailed to Patricia Whatley <[log in to unmask]> by 20 August with:

 

• a brief CV, maximum 500 words, stating current experience, or current status as a student
• a 500 word statement on how you would benefit from attendance at the conference

 

Successful applicants will be expected to submit a short report on the conference in English.
