Transport Planning Senior GIS Manager

The GIS Manager will be highly proficient in the field of GIS, in order
to support GIS services and other areas of the business. The main
objectives for the role will be to work alongside and to further develop
the GIS team to provide technical advice and GIS analysis, to provide
senior GI consultancy services; to perform spatial data modelling and
solution design; and to support in the implementation and management of
GIS services.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate considerable experience
in a senior GIS role within a consultancy / commercial environment and
have CGeog (GIS) Chartership status or other relevant chartered
membership. Experience in team building and business development would
also be a major element of this role.
Technical skills/knowledge:
Proven business winner
Experienced team leader and builder
Experienced in taking the lead in bid preparation and creating
opportunities.
Strong client relationship skills
Proven ability to manage projects and teams
Provide technical support within the Geo-Consultancy Group
Demonstrable experience of using GIS to provide applications and
services
Experience of developing and leading GIS projects from business case
through to delivery
Proficiency in ArcGIS (and extensions), MapInfo, ER Mapper, Erdas
Imagine and AutoCAD
Broad level knowledge of GIS principles and solutions
Experience of one or more programming languages (Visual Basic, VB.NET
and ArcObjects)
Good working knowledge of UK mapping, in particular Ordnance Survey
produced products
Strong skills & experience of geo-information management
Advanced GIS skills and experience in databases, GIS applications and
services
Experience of spatial data modelling, geodatabase design/architecture
and management
Experience in Web-based GIS systems
