EPSRC PhD Studentship – Geotechnical Engineering Project Title: Group Mechanics of Vibrated Stone Column Foundations Start Date: October 2009 – October 2012 Applications are invited to apply for an EPSRC sponsored studentship for a 3- years for research into the group mechanics of vibrated stone column foundations. The work will involve the use of a novel experimental technique of non-intrusive modelling using transparent synthetic soil in conjunction with laser technology and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) measurement.
