Dear all,

From time to time I have to intervene and put a steady hand on the tiller of the good ship con-land-strat so it is nice on this occasion to say Wow! Well done Chloe.

You have pointed us not only to the answer but to the only image on google images (try "Hertz Horn") of the electrolyte filled glass tube. (All other instances credit the MCDOA for the same image).

thanks too to Jonathan for asking the question!

I think I can actually!

I think it’s a sulphuric acid vial used within the horn of a sea mine.

Please refer to the following website:

Photograph on the website looks the same - just different colour that’s all.

Can anyone identify these objects?  Clean answers only please.

Thanks

Is anyone out there aware of what the attached could be.  They are made of thick glass and sealed inside is a clear liquid which appears more viscous than water.  At one end is a nipple and the other end is a moulded section which looks as though it should locate into something.

There are no marks or labels on the glass.

If you have any suggestions as to what they could be, then please email me at
