The WorldFirst Racing Project was led by WMG and WIMRC at the University of Warwick along with a number of industrial partners including Lola Cars, Lear, Yazaki and Scott Racing. The result was the WorldFirst F3 Racing Car. The project successfully demonstrated the use of sustainable materials and fuel technologies in an extreme environment, generating huge public and media interest and establishing a network of partners striving to improve the environmental credentials of the motorsport industry.
 
The WorldFirst Environmental Motorsport Conference will bring together industry and academia in one place to disseminate cutting edge developments and examine how best to exploit the exciting opportunities that are appearing at the dawn of a new era in international motorsport. The conference will comprise of a networking track day with driving experiences on 14 September 2009. On the 15 Spetember there will be presentations from key industry and academic speakers and workshops that will seek ways forward for future collaborations.
