Hi Neil

We are currently involved in the supply of such a device. You might consider the inclusion of a transceiver as part of the installation so that the image could be sent to multiple TVs. The funding is coming via a stage3 adaptation request, which was accepted with a supporting assessment from me, although these are traditionally provided by OTs. If that funding route had failed we would have considered fundintg it through the budget for the local telecare project. The security issues for this client had significant quality of life implications, associated with acceptance of their new accommodation, and was easily justifiable. Hope that helps.

Cheers

Jeremy

Subject: Door Entry Cameras

Hi,

Has anyone supplied a door entry camera system for a patient (specifically from an Environmental Control budget) to improve their security measures? I would perceive that one coming in through a TV channel would be suitable for an Environmental Control user rather than on a small screen on a telephone. It would make sense for such a system to be supplied by Social Work as it would be a standard “off the shelf” item rather than a specialist product.

Thoughts on this?

Thanks,
