hello SPM

i have some doubts about making correlations with spm5

when i'm setting the contrast i have two variables, one independent (IV1) and one dependent (DV1). i would like to know whether there is a correspondance between the IV and 1 and the DV and 0. If so, should i set the contrast as [1 0]?

then suppose that i have 3 variables, one dependent (DV1) and two independent (IV1 & IV2)

If I want to know whether DV1 is correlated with DV1 after removing the effects of IV2, should i set the contrast as [1 1 0] for IV1-IV2-DV1?

and in the opposite case, when i have one idependent variable and two dependent variables the contrast would be [1 0 0] VI1-VD1-VD2.

and finally i want to know if the final result provided by SPM is equivalent to the ANOVA of a regression. How can i get then the result of partial correlations (for each one of the IV after removing the effect of the remaining IV)?

Regards

Gabriel
