The Cataloguing and Indexing Group in Scotland AGM will be held at the National Library of Scotland Boardroom, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh on Monday 17th August 2009 at 1.30pm (and not Thursday as previously advertised)

Post-AGM seminar - All Together Now: the work of OCLC Research

After the AGM, we are delighted to welcome John MacColl, European Director of the Research Libraries Group (RLG) Partnership within OCLC Research.  John will talk about some of the key challenges facing the research information sector. He will give examples of the ways in which OCLC Research is working with its RLG Partner institutions and member libraries to respond to these challenges. He will consider both why metadata is critical to this response, why we need to change the way we provide it, and describe the ways in which WorldCat is developing to meet these needs.

The post-AGM talk will start at 2pm.

This is a free event.   Refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) will be available prior to and during the afternoon.

To reserve a place please e-mail Paul Cunnea at [log in to unmask] by Thursday 13th August.

Any CIGS members interested in joining the committee should contact Gordon Dunsire, CIGS Chair at [log in to unmask] and the appropriate nomination forms will be forwarded onto you.
