design activism. 

Indeed, just one more day remains until the Leeds Festival of Design Activism 
gets under way.

Exhibition Opening -  Engage: Design for Activism
Thursday 2 July, 1830
Broadcasting House, Leeds Metropolitan University
Exhibition is open through Friday 2 and Saturday 3 July. 
Featuring 16 graduate exhibitors from around the UK and Barcelona including 
political graphics, urban interventionist practices and appropriate technology.

Practitioner Conference – Friday 3 July, 1000-1730
Hepworth Point, Leeds Metropolitan University 
Featuring 16 presentations by design activist practitioners, screenings, a 
roundtable discussion and a co-design workshop led by Alastair Fuad-Luke.

Design Activism Gala Event – Friday 3 July, 2000-midnight
LS6, Hyde Park, Leeds
A social evening with food, screenings, live music, awards, crafts, pub-quiz, 
networking. It’s all there. 

Climate for Change Event – Saturday 4 July, 1400-1600
Boardroom, Broadcasting House, Leeds Metropolitan University
This event is organised by the Leeds based "Climate 4 Change" group and will 
take place on Saturday, 4th of July from 2-4pm. This discussion event will 
consider 'In the face of the triple crunch and the cessation of 'business as 
usual' in Leeds, what strategies need to be considered to sustain the cultural 
sector and its people'
Speaker:  Louise Peverley from the Doncaster Community Development Trust 
has been invited to talk about timebanks. 

‘Activist’ Film Screenings
Rosebowl, Leeds Metropolitan University
Linking up with the 11th RAI International Festival of Ethnographic Film, there 
will be free screenings of ‘activist films’ including:
