Department of Midwifery and Child Health, School of Community and Health Sciences Fixed-term for 6 months, £30k - £32k per annum We are looking for a full-time Statistician/Data Analyst, for a fixed term of 6 months, to work on a set of three linked projects to evaluate the impact of a freestanding midwife-led birth centre opened in an inner city area of Tower Hamlets. The projects are a survey of women's experiences before and after the opening of the birth centre, an analysis of routine hospital and population-based maternity data and an economic evaluation. The person appointed will analyse and interpret the routine data and help with the cleaning and analysis of the survey data and the data extracted from clinical notes for the economic evaluation. Problems with new NHS IT systems make the analyses of routine data challenging. You will have experience of secondary analysis of data from routine data collection systems, including data checking and cleaning and analysis, and experience of using SAS, STATA or SPSS statistical software for analysis. You will have ability and experience in writing reports of analyses, and the ability to use your initiative and work independently. In return, we offer a comprehensive package of in-house staff training and development, and benefits that include a final salary pension scheme. Actively working to promote equal opportunities and diversity.
