medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Garuffi, in his 1899 book, "I Documenti Inediti dell'Epoca Normanna in Sicilia", gives an inventory of 1157(?) for the church/cathedral of Sancti Salvatoris at Cefalu.  I have been able to identify most of the vestments and other items listed, but several remain a mystery.

Bufuta?
Siclas?

And what, exactly, is "Lignum dominicum cum duabus tabulis aureis et gemmates"?  I have figured something along the lines of a wooden something with two panels/boards of gold and whatever "gemmates" is.

All on-line sources have proved, for me, silent, so I would really appreciate any help.
Thank you.
