With an annual income of almost £230m and about 5,000 staff, working from over 200 sites across County Durham, the Tees Valley and North East Yorkshire we provide a range of services to 1.4m local people, as well as some specialist services to other parts of northern England.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Librarian to deliver high quality and flexible training at a range of locations across the trust and to evaluate its effectiveness. The post holder will also help to identify ongoing training needs; in particular you will lead a SHA-funded project to investigate the information literacy training needs of the foundation degree (FdSc) students at Teesside University who are working within the trust in KSF Band 4 Associate or Assistant Practitioner roles and to produce customised e-learning and support material for them on core information literacy topics.

With a degree or postgraduate qualification in librarianship/information science, the person appointed will have experience in a NHS, academic or special library and an expert knowledge of internet searching and of bibliographic databases and electronic resources in the health sciences. The post holder will also have proven training expertise and experience of managing projects and conducting research. We are seeking a self-starter and excellent communicator with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
