Subject: Leadership &
Management Development Prog. for Clinical & Non-Clinical Health Service
Managers
Dear Health Service Manager
Leading to the
Advanced Certificate in Health Service Management
The School of Public Health and Clinical Science, UCLan are pleased to offer this specialist management programme for Departmental Managers of clinical and non-clinical teams. We recognise that managers will have departments for HR, accounts, clinical governance, estates, etc. Therefore this programme focuses on the actuality of managers roles, thinking around knowledge, skills and behaviours so as to become effective.
A version of this programme has been undertaken by many management staff over the past five years, and has been modified and refined in light of feedback and changing context. Places are available for the next programme commencing on 22nd September 2009 with subsequent sessions taking place on the following dates; 20th October 09, 10th November 09, 8th December 09, 12th January 2010, 9th February 2010, 9th March 2010, 13th April 2010, 11th May 2010, 15th June 2010 . To reserve your place on the programme, please complete and return the booking form attached.
There are no specific academic entry requirements to participate in the programme, however the University does expect commitment, and completion, and this will be discussed between participants and the Course Leader, Dr Steve Willcocks.
The programme has been designed in consultation with Health Service Managers, and is delivered by an experienced team of practitioners. When designing this programme, attention has been given to ensuring that the management and leadership models and theories are translated into practical and useful management techniques that can be applied within the Service.
The programme is delivered approximately 1 day a month from
9.30am to 4.30pm at the University campus in
Programme For Your Organisation - The programme can be delivered at any national location for a group of Managers within an organisation. We will require a minimum of 18 Managers to attend. If you would like to discuss this option further or require any further information about the programme, please contact my colleague Martine Townsend on 01772 893837 or email [log in to unmask]
Yours sincerely
Jane Cunningham, Business Development Manager, Faculty of Health, UCLan
