Hi Marcus,
in the site.def of CE there should be set SITE_BDII_HOST=$CE_HOST
the site-bdii publishes information under the branch
mds-vo-name=UNI-SIEGEN-HEP
with this branch (giis url:
ldap://vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de:2170/Mds-Vo-name=UNI-SIEGEN-HEP,o=grid)
the site is published in the top-bdii, but the information under this
branch are empty:
[paolini@ui ~]$ ldapsearch -x -LLL -H
ldap://vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de:2170 -b
mds-vo-name=UNI-SIEGEN-HEP,o=grid
dn: Mds-Vo-name=UNI-SIEGEN-HEP,o=grid
objectClass: GlueTop
Mds-Vo-name: UNI-SIEGEN-HEP
Under the branch "resource" there are the information of the host
"vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de", and as you can see, they are
correctly published
see with
$ ldapsearch -x -LLL -H ldap://vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de:2170 -b
mds-vo-name=resource,o=grid
so it seems that the site-bdii is not collecting the site information in
the correct way
do you see any errors in /opt/bdii/var/bdii.log ?
what did you set in the file services/glite-bdii_site ?
howeve I see that at least the file /opt/glite/etc/gip/site-urls.conf
seems correct
[paolini@ui ~]$ globus-job-run vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de
/usr/bin/less /opt/glite/etc/gip/site-urls.conf
CE ldap://vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o=grid
SE ldap://marc.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o=grid
May you try to reconfigure CE+sBDII via yaim?
Cheers,
Alessandro

Hi Alessandro, hi Steven,
when I check the site BDII via
ldapsearch -x -h vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de -p 2170 -b o=grid, I
obtain a very long list of reasonable information, same for
marc.hep.physik.uni-sigen.de, so the site-BDII seems to be working
fine.
Then I tried to test the entries in the top-BDII via
ldapsearch -LLL -x -h bdii-host.invalid -p 2170 -b o=grid\
'(|(GlueChunkKey=*domain.invalid)(GlueForeignKey=*domain.invalid)(GlueInformationServiceURL=*domain.invalid*)\
(GlueCESEBindSEUniqueID=*.domain.invalid)(GlueCESEBindSEUniqueID=*.domain.invalid)\
(GlueCESEBindGroupSEUniqueID=*domain.invalid)(sysAdminContact=*domain.invalid))'
I replaced 'bdii-host.invalid' by
'bdii-fzk.gridka.de' (BDII_HOST=bdii-fzk.gridka.de in site-info.def) and
'domain.invalid' by 'vmiro3.hep.physik.uni-siegen.de', I get the
following error:
Invalid DN syntax (34)
Additional information: invalid DN
Probably I made some mistakes usind that test query. I left the
wildcards at their places as written above.
Sorry, for the inconvenience, I'm really new in my job as site admin.
Cheers
Marcus

Hi Marcus,
the storage element doesn't answer to ldap query;however also the
site-bdii has problems: it is publishing empty information (under
mds-vo-name=UNI-SIEGEN-HEP) so that the CE and SE (the SE for its
problems) aren't in the information system
Cheers,
Alessandro
