Inspired by Bombay Africans – an exhibition produced in 2007 by the Royal Geographical Society, BOMBAY MIX will explore hidden cross-cultural stories embedded in our collective cultural + scientific heritage. It will also look at the history of a selected number of Natural History museums established throughout the British Empire with a special emphasis on Manchester and Bombay (Mumbai).

BOMBAY MIX is part of the NEW OBJECT LESSONS programme supported by the Wai Yin Chinese Women Society.

In partnership with Wai Yin Chinese Women Society (Manchester), local historian Dominique Tessier will facilitate a new series of New Object Lessons workshops exploring historical links between China + Britain.

Between 01/06/09 + 20/07/09, the workshops will take place Mondays, 2pm - 5pm at the Wai Yin Chinese Women Society.
