End-of-Project Conference for the Disability Equality in English Primary Schools (DEEPS) Project
Centre for Disability Studies, University of Leeds.

The aim of this conference is to introduce and discuss the findings of the DEEPS Project.

This project has explored the following.

 * The extent and nature of teaching about disability (and the lives of disabled people), taking place within English primary schools.
 * What, if any, challenges schools and teachers face when seeking to promote disability awareness amongst non-disabled children.
 * Primary-age non-disabled children's knowledge about and attitudes towards disability and the lives of disabled people.

We would particularly like to invite teachers, members of disabled people's organisations, policy makers, researchers in the fields of Disability Studies and Inclusive Education to attend this event. We would value your thoughts and feedback on our findings.

The conference will include keynote speech by Professor Colin Barnes<http://www.sociology.leeds.ac.uk/about/staff/barnes.php> (University of Leeds).

This event is FREE to attend. Lunch will be provided.

The venue is accessible to wheelchair users.
