Subject: POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY Review editor post available Please bring to the attention of any interested candidates. We welcome informal inquiries johno ____________________________________________________________________________ ___ After a decade as Review Editor for Political Geography, Professor Eleonore Kofman is stepping down, though she will continue to serve on the editorial board of the journal. Beginning in 1st September 2009, the publishers wish to appoint a new Review Editor. Editor-in-Chief, John O'Loughlin, and Associate Editors Pauliina Raento and James D. Sidaway are continuing in their roles. In addition to book reviews, it is expected that the new Review Editor of the journal will assist with the publishing of the guest editorials and interventions. (In the past couple of years, these sections have expanded dramatically and are expected to continue to grow.) The Review Editor will proactively organize forums (consisting of multiple authors) on major books and review essays (single authored review essays on multiple books of the same subject). The Review Editor will also act on proposals for book review forums which typically emanate from "Author Meets Critics" panels at professional meetings. Interested applicants should email the Editor-in-Chief, John O'Loughlin [[log in to unmask]] by 15th August 2009 with a curriculum vitae and a statement of how they might energetically develop the journal's review section. Informal inquiries and discussions can be made with one of the current editors at [[log in to unmask]], [[log in to unmask]] or [[log in to unmask]]. The editors and publisher, in consultation with board members, will make a decision in later August 2009. -- Lawrence D. Berg, D.Phil.
