*Two positions at a post-doctoral and a senior technician level are available from September 15th at the Structural Biology and Biocomputing Programme of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) in Madrid, Spain.* The research focuses on signalling and structural aspects of cell adhesion and growth factor signalling with particular emphasis on: 1) Employing protein X-ray crystallography in combination with biochemical, functional and FRET studies to elucidate detailed molecular events that regulate cell adhesion. 2) Employing structure based drug design for the discovery of novel anti-cancer drugs that target cell adhesion signalling molecules. The candidates will work with a highly motivated team that has strong expertise in structural biology and biochemistry. You will collaborate both, within the CNIO with cell biology and computational groups, as well as externally with leading international research groups. *Post-doctoral position:* The ideal candidate should have a PhD in structural biology, biochemistry or a related field and should have extensive experience in all aspects of protein X-ray crystallography, including protein expression and purification, crystallization, structure determination and refinement. Experience with baculovirus expression is an advantage. * Senior laboratory technician:* The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a research laboratory. This person will provide experimental support for ongoing research projects and will be responsible for general lab management duties (ordering, equipment and laboratory maintenance etc.). Strong organizational skills and extensive experience with molecular biology techniques are required. Experience with baculovirus expression and cell culture will be considered an asset. The candidate should have an active interest in taking part in ongoing research projects. English language skills are required and knowledge of Spanish is an advantage.
