Assistant Records Manager, Natural History Museum

23 months fixed term appointment
£27,500 plus benefits (subject to pay review)

The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s leading museums, 
internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in 
scientific research and as a leader in the presentation of natural sciences 
through public engagement.

Reporting to the Museum Archivist and Records Manager, you will take forward 
the implementation of improvements in records management procedures and 
practices across the Museum. This will include further development and review 
of retention schedules and file plans, work towards an electronic records 
management solution for the Museum, and development of training and 
guidance for staff. You will also assist with providing an Archives service to 
staff and to the public, undertaking enquiry work and looking after readers.

You will have a postgraduate qualification in archives and/or records 
management, and previous records management experience. As an 
experienced communicator with all levels of stakeholders and audiences, with 
an ability to work on your own initiative, you should demonstrate an adaptable 
and flexible approach, and the ability to work in a small team.
