A colleague wants to label a graph axis as "Ln(x)". I feel ln should
not be capitalized and can't recall seeing Ln elsewhere but can't find
an authority to confirm my view (Hart's Rules, TeX documentation, etc).
Can anyone point me to a ruling, suggest a killer justification, or
quote a counter example? I could imagine seeing, "Ln(x) is the natural
logarithm" in a book, but would hope an editor would suggest, "The
notation for natural logarithm is ln(x)."

Thanks in anticipation
