Post doctoral Research Fellow in Spatial Biostatistics

We seek a post-doctoral fellow for an NIH-funded research project to
analyze spatio-temporal latent structure models. This position will
involve the development and application of new statistical approaches to
model the underlying spatial structural components in disease risk and
their dynamic variation. Bayesian spatial mixture models will be the
foundation from which to build space-time extensions.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics.

Publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific
and professional meetings are expected and encouraged.

Desired skills include proficiency in statistical computing, and
knowledge of spatial statistics, and Bayesian models/MCMC techniques.
Familiarity with GIS would be a plus.

The position holder will report directly to Professor Andrew Lawson,
Division of Biostatistics & Epidemiology, Department of Medicine.

This is a 22 month appointment. The salary will be on the range $45,000
- $55,000.

Initial informal enquiries can be made directly to Andrew Lawson at
