The shape is quite similar to netting tools, but it seems a bit too thick for that. You have been busy this week! Cheers Christine -----Original Message----- From: Social History Curators Group email list [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Jenny Brown Sent: 12 June 2009 10:35 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [SHCG-LIST] Friday's Mystery Objects! Any thoughts on the two items in the attached pictures? One seems to be made of ivory or bone (it has some sort of grain), and one end seems to be a handle (there's more weight to it and a definate hip)....is this a blank for something? If so, any thoughts? The other items is a total mystery to us as it was found uncatalogued, although we did think lamp or something like it because we think that it asbestos in the end. Don't worry, double bagging happened promptly afterwards! Something to muse over with a cup of tea and some colleagues maybe...
