ANGEL’S CAVE, LUCENA (CÓRDOBA, SPAIN)
Information about the Angel’s Cave:
Angel’s Cave (Lucena - Córdoba) is a new Palaeolithic site at the south of
the Iberian Peninsula. The sedimentary deposits were discovered in 1995. We
have worked during four summers (1995, 1996, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2008).
This season we are going to work inside of the new deep abyss cave recently
opened through a tunnel and never before surveyed.
During: From the 1 of July to the 15 of August.
City: Lucena (Córdoba).
Organization: Museo Arqueológico y Etnológico de Lucena and Team of
Investigation of the Angel’s Cave.
Masters: Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía & Ayuntamiento de
Lucena.
Tipe of site: Palaeolithic (Acheulean and Mousterian).
Circuit of that which: International.
SMALLEST PERIOD THAT EACH ONE MUST BE IN THE EXCAVATION: 15 DAYS (July or
August).

- INSURANCE OF ACCIDENT FOR EACH ONES
- CERTIFICATE OF ASSITANCE IN THE EXCAVATION
THE WORK YOU MUST DO HERE IS DIFERENT:
- EXCAVATION IN THE CAVE
- WORK IN THE LABORATORY: Conservation, inventory-catalogue,
restoration, sifting of sediment, and administration.
COMMENDABLE:
It’s commendable come here with soft clothes of summer, personal bag for
cleanliness, bag for sleeping in camping and camping mattress.
ARRIVE TO LUCENA:
If you come by flying, you can have your ticket of travelling from your
origin country to the airport of Malaga, or Seville, or Madrid-Barajas. From
these cities you have many buses form them to Córdoba or to Lucena in the
bus station of Madrid, Seville or Malaga. By train you can also travel from
Madrid to Córdoba or Puente Genil, a city sideways Lucena. When you arrived
to Lucena, Puente Genil, Córdoba, or Malaga, if you have problems to
localize with us you can phone to the next mobile phone: 699-069042, ask for
Daniel.
The Angel’s Cave Excavation don’t pay displacement’s travel. We haven’t
fellowship for them.
