Urban Design and Planning journal is interested in receiving proposals for review articles in relevant and timely topics concerning urban design and planning. We seek articles that succinctly capture the state of the art in a given topic, for a general (built environment) and international readership. Review articles should be academically authoritative, but address topics of more than academic interest: as well as critically interpreting the literature in a given field, they should draw out significant findings and messages for urban designers and planners - practitioners as well as academics. Review articles of 3000-5000 words are now invited in relevant topics. Possible topics include: * Master planning in rapidly developing cities / countries * The use of ICT / GIS / visualisation in planning * Developments in New Urbanism / Smart Growth / Transect planning/ Coding / Transit-oriented development * Disability and accessibility in the built environment * Urban / regional planning for World cities / Megacities * Developments in participative planning / urban design * User perception / behaviour and design of built environment * Ecological / biophilic urban design * Developments in retail location and planning * Informal housing / settlements * Urban design as a professional / academic discipline * Urban planning as a professional / academic discipline Urban Design and Planning is a quarterly journal launched in 2008, as part of the established Proceedings series of journals of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
