Hello,

I have a set of old data that were preprocessed (realignment, smoothing,
normalization) using SPM99. We recently wanted to verify that the changes to
the statistical machinery of SPM in subsequent versions do not impact results.

So, I used SPM8b to redo the first level analysis of a group of subjects using
the realigned, smoothed, normalized images from SPM99. The results were
perfect, with statistical values and local maxima coming out nearly identical
for every subject, however the coordinates of these maxima are flipped. For
example, one subject's global maximum is at 56 -68 -4 in 99 and SPM8b is now
reported it as -56 -68 -4.

Moreover, these coordinates are flipped even though check reg (and any other
image viewing software I try) show the relevant con files as being in the exact
same orientation. So, it is only the Results function that is reading these
data differently.

Obviously the SPM99 con is in analyze format whereas the SPM8 con is in NIFTI,
so is there anything in the header that would cause the Results, but not the
Check Reg function to view these images different?

Thank You,
Brandon Abbs
