Applications are invited for the MA in Innovation Studies at the University of East London, and for a competitive Masters Bursary offered by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at UEL.

The MA in Innovation Studies at UEL explores the complex, dynamic relations between social and technological forces shaping innovation processes in an international context.  As part of the European Society, Science and Technology (ESST) framework, full-time students have the option of moving to another European university in the second semester, each offering different specialisations.  Funding for student exchanges is available to EU nationals under the Erasmus scheme.

The MA core curriculum draws upon the sociology of scientific knowledge; information society theory; the economics of technical change; regulatory and political theory; policy evaluation; and other perspectives associated with innovation systems and processes.  The MA is offered in both full-time and part-time mode for those remaining at UEL for both semesters, but all students benefit from the European ESST partnership through exchange of educational resource materials, visiting lecturers and on-line discussion fora.

The Masters Bursary is available to full time UK, EU and International students.  The award is set at UK/EU level, so covers only part of the fees for International students.

The deadline for Masters Bursary applications is 15 JULY 2009
