Dr Tim R Nicholson FRGS (historian of cycling, road, and motoring maps;
of the Ordnance Survey; and erstwhile keen vintage motorist) died of a
heart attack, I am informed, on Tuesday last, 16 June 2009.

His funeral will take place this coming Friday, 26 June, at 10.00 hours
at St Marylebone Crematorium, East End Road, Finchley, LONDON N2. This
is adjacent to Christ's College (east side of North Circular Road);
nearest London Underground station - Northern Line on High Barnet branch
- is Finchley Central (next nearest station, to south, is East
Finchley).

According to information from his son and daughter (courtesy of Mrs
Valerie Jackson-Harris, Chairman of The Ephemera Society), the funeral
is 'public' but the gathering afterwards is for specially invited
persons only.

Francis Herbert (Hon. FRGS; member, Charles Close Society for the Study
of Ordnance Survey maps)
