COMHAIRLE NAN EILEAN SIAR

Archaeologist, Museum Nan Eilean, Stornoway

£32,495 - £35,330

All salaries are inclusive of Islands Allowance.

Appointment to posts will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression.

 

Required to provide an Archaeological Service across the Western Isles.  Including:

The maintenance of the Sites and Monuments Record.

Interpretation of the local heritage.

Support to Comainn Eachdraidh.

Advice to Planning and Development control.

 

You should have knowledge of Scottish archaeology and Scottish Historic Environment Law and policy, along with a working knowledge of sites and monuments record-keeping.  You should have a degree in Archaeology or a related degree with a post graduate qualification in Archaeology and a full driving licence.  You will be expected to work closely with a range of partner organisations and travel widely throughout the Western Isles.
