Dear Colleagues, I would like to draw your attention to the "Scuola G.Pialli 2009" short course: *Combination of geological and petrological data with numerical thermomechanical experiments in order to investigate geodynamic problems.* The short course will be held at University of Perugia (Italy) from *28 Sept to 2 Oct 2009 *by *Prof. Gerya Taras* (ETH, Zurich). The goal of this course is to learn, understand and solve numerically three principal partial differential equations (conservation of momentum, mass and energy) that are applicable for analysing and modelling geodynamic processes. The course will provide step-by-step introduction into the mathematical structure, physical meaning and numerical solutions of the equations. Introduction to MATLAB will also be given.
