David, There is a new project which has recently started, which has information about all the ships built in Hartlepool, including where they have been shipwrecked. The project, Hartlepool Built, is a website which contains details of every ship built in Hartlepool and West Hartlepool from the 1830s to the 1960s when the last shipyards closed. The amount of information it has on individual ships varies, but where possible includes: ship specifications, owners, Masters, crew lists, photographs, plans and any other information that helps us build a full history of each vessel. As this project is just starting out, and is volunteer-run, they have not yet put everything online. There is a lot of information. So if you are looking for information about a ship and can't find anything on the site, get in touch with the team who will try to help. Here's the address for you to check out and see if it is something you would be able to use. http://www.hartlepoolbuilt.co.uk/ I hope that is of some use to you.
