One is a documentary I missed the first time around, China
Blue
http://www.bullfrogfilms.com/catalog/china.html
Not your usual sweatshop expose, but quite a nuanced look at
life in rural and urban China, at the factory system and ideologies of work and
managerialism, insights into gender, resistance and control. In subtitles, and
a bit slow and subtle perhaps for class use.
And for summer reading:
SHOP CLASS AS SOULCRAFT An Inquiry Into the Value of Work
Have not read the book yet, but here is the NYT review:

have a scintillating summer!
