Dear All Welcome to new members who joined the list recently. Below are links to two very different types of resources on alcohol from the BBC iplayer service: the first is a recording of the recent select committee hearing on alcohol. It is very interesting in terms of the questions being asked of the experts but also offers the opportunity to see many of our key alcohol experts presenting views and opinions relating to alcohol policy issues and the evidence base. Sort of a free conference! http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00kpx43/Select_Committees_Alcohol_C ommittee/ The second is a documentary entitled 'Drinking with the Girls' that was shown on the BBC. It is not research but is an examination of the use of alcohol among seven different 'groups' of women across all age ranges. My personal interest is using it (or elements of it) to spark debate in teaching/training about alcohol and gender and, more broadly, 'reasons' people use alcohol. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00jz171/Drinking_with_the_Girls/ All the best Sarah
