Does it define  'records manager'. In other words if you give the super users this ability are they not 'records managers' making the requirement self-fulfilling ?

Subject: EDRMS - Can you move a record?



Talking to our new EDRMS provider I was told that according to MOREQ2, Records were not able to be moved except by a records manager. Does anyone have any thoughts on if this is correct or not? (not just within moreq but in terms of records management more generally)

Basically we are utilising Case (client files) with sub folders below the client folder (i.e. joe Blogs has sub folders; Finance and commissioning, Assessment, etc). Of course no matter what guidance you provide to staff there is always going to be someone (more like 20-30 a day) that puts a record in the incorrect folder. To me allowing a sub set of superusers the ability (right), audited of course, to move a record within a case folder  in no way impacts on the record-ness of the object. As the content is not altered, the majority of the metadata is unaltered.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I am of course going to be looking through the Moreq docs to see if I can find this element so I can check but if anyone knows the exact location it would be useful.
