Dear Colleagues,

Further to our email last week, please find attached a draft programme
and booking form for the follow-on meeting on 29th June at the Roxburghe
Hotel, Edinburgh which will build upon the initial discussion and
formulation of research questions at the meeting held on 22nd April,
although this invitation is not confined to those who attended the
initial discussion.

It will allow participants a substantial opportunity to build upon the
areas of research/evaluation interest identified:

1. What is the role of mentoring in PDP?

2. Discipline - specific staff development

3. Revisiting Reflection/ Reflection with a purpose

4. Student engagement

5. What positive attributes have recent graduates (3-5 years
after graduation) acquired during their studies that have been of
benefit in their employment? At what point do students identify that PDP
or career development is important in their studies? What switches them
on and why?

6. How do we sell e-Portfolios to students?

7. Assessment, PDP and reflection

In addition, time will be allocated for discussion as to the
identification of further priorities for the Forum during 2009/10, and
the ways in which this work might relate to wider initiatives. So this
is your chance to ensure your needs and interests are taken account of,
and to relate these to wider institutional and sectoral agendas.

If you would like to attend, please could you fill in the attached
booking form and return to Amy Marsden at CRA (

Monday 22nd June.

A booking form for the other forthcoming, dissemination event on 19th
June at West Park Centre, organised by QAA Scotland on behalf of the
joint forum, entitled "Enhancing PDP Activities in Institutions through
Effective Strategy, Policy and Practice; A Toolkit" will be available
very shortly.

We do hope you can attend and look forward to hearing from you,

Alastair, Rob and Heather
