Hi I wouldn't "challenge" the GP note gently or otherwise as I do not believe that is our role. I would do my assessment, give my advice to management with clear reasons for the advice e.g. "the general medical consesus is that a week is all that is normally required unless there are complications to recovery such as persistent nausea. Assessment did / did not identify any complications and thefefore I advise Ms XX is fit for work. doing XyZ".
