Welcome

Welcome to the May edition of the NHS Evidence - gastroenterology and liver diseases newsletter. This bulletin is produced monthly, and aims to update you on:

NHS Evidence

The NHS Evidence website has now formally launched. You may have noticed some changes to our site, and other pages, already.

Provided by NICE, NHS Evidence is a new service which will develop, enhance and expand the services that were previously provided by the National Library for Health (NLH). The NLH and its specialist libraries became part of NHS Evidence on 1 April 2009. The NHS Evidence portal and search engine are now available at www.evidence.nhs.uk.

As part of ongoing developments, the specialist libraries have changed their names and are, as a group, now called specialist collections. This individual collection is now NHS Evidence – gastroenterology and liver diseases, and you will continue to be able to access all the content and features. The existing URL for the collection will remain for now, but is likely to change later in the year as the specialist collections become fully integrated with the NHS Evidence portal.

Further information on NHS Evidence can be found here.

Revisions to topic tree

We have made some revisions to our topic tree (the list of subjects that appears in the left-hand column of the website). Many new subtopics have been enabled. Most importantly, the information on therapeutic nutrition has been put in its own section. As a main section of the site, this now has an accompanying RSS feed. (A full list of our RSS feeds can be found here.)

Here are some of the recent additions to the website:
