**Apologies for cross-posting**

There are just two weeks left to book a place at the CILIP in Scotland
Conference 2009, which will take place 1-3 June at Peebles Hotel Hydro in
the Scottish Borders.

The main conference will take place over Tues 2 and Wed 3 Jun, with
pre-conference meetings and the launch of the Ask Scotland enquiry service
taking place on Mon 1st Jun.

This year we are pleased to host keynote speakers Jay Jordan, Chief
Executive Officer of OCLC, and BT Futurologist Jonathan Mitchener.

On Tuesday, two themed strands will run alongside the main programme, one
focussing on school libraries and the other on career development.

The school libraries element will cover major developments in the sector,
including the Curriculum for Excellence and Glow.

The career development programme aims to have cross sector appeal and will
feature sessions on National Occupational Standards, delivering
presentations, strategies for marketing yourself and impressing employers.

The programme has been designed to allow maximum flexibility and delegates
will be free to mix and match across strands to create a personalised
itinerary and make the most of the conference’s diversity and range.

On Wednesday, the conference will conclude with Branch and Group Day, where
CILIPS special interest groups (SIGs) and local branches contribute to the
event by selecting projects and initiatives to share with the wider sector.
