Summary 
ScHARR is looking for a strong, dynamic candidate with a developing international reputation 
and the ability to lead research. This is a strategic appointment for Health Economics and 
Decision Science (HEDS), ScHARR and the University. Creativity, academic excellence and 
research leadership are essential. Whilst the core areas of the proposed research 
programmes should lie within the broad scope of health economics and decision science, we 
are open to a vision of new directions that will complement existing areas or to increased 
depth and specialisation in our current core strengths.

The post holder must be enthusiastic, hard working, well organised and able to prioritise work 
demands in a challenging academic and professional environment. The post holder will have 
excellent presentational skills and be able to work sympathetically and effectively with outside 
organisations, colleagues and students. The post demands a commitment to teamwork, a 
flexible attitude and an ability to respond positively to the challenges faced by HEDS. They 
must be comfortable with working in a multi-disciplinary environment. 

Applicants should have an established record of quality research publications and have a 
proven track record in generating external research income and demonstrate experience in 
academic leadership.
