Would you like to know more about the principles of exploiting assets within your collection? Gloucestershire Archives, in partnership with Naomi Korn Copyright Consultancy, is pleased to offer a one day course
based around optimising intellectual property assets. The course offers practical training, providing participants with the tools to understand the issues, benefits & risksinvolved in generating income from their collections. It is aimed at professionals
who already have a basic understanding of copyright, and topics include using licences to exploit collections; creating & negotiating licences with 3rd parties; Creative Commons licences; and licensing in the digital environment.
The course will mix presentations, practical exercises, discussion & 1:1 consultancy. It will particularly suit anyone seeking an introduction to the principles of copyright within the context of caring for and interpreting collections,
or who wishes to establish or improve rights management procedures within their collections.
The course will run between 10.00 & 16.00 on Friday 3 July at Gloucestershire Archives, Clarence Row, Alvin St, Gloucester, GL1 3DW (location details at http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=17200).
