* ABSTRACT *
This course will survey the field of design and analysis of case-control and
case-cohort studies.
It will discuss two phase stratified designs for sampling subjects from a
large cohort for whom
additional data are collected (e.g. assays of biological tissues, genetic
data…) for specific purposes.

A general framework for the analysis of data from such studies will be
presented,
that aims to incorporate into the analysis useful information from subjects
in the main cohort.
Methods of adjustment of inverse probability sampling weights that can
enhance the recovery of
information from main cohort will be discussed. Example data including data from
the National Wilms Tumor Study (NWTS) will be analysed using the R
statistical package,
in particular the R SURVEY package developed by Thomas Lumley.

Some background in case-control and case-cohort studies is assumed.

*** DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS 12 JUNE ***
