Research Assistant/Associate in Medical Statistics (vacancy ref. 14748) The Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit of the Bristol Heart Institute, University of Bristol, wish to appoint a Research Assistant or Associate in Medical Statistics. You will provide statistical expertise and input into the analysis and publication of data collected for randomised controlled trials and for the observational studies. You will also provide advice to clinical researchers working in the Institute and contribute to the design of future studies. This post is funded for two years in the fist instance. The Bristol Heart Institute is a centre of excellence, both in carrying out basic biomedical research and in evaluating promising technologies in everyday clinical practice. Since its inception in 1995, it has attracted over £10 million of research funding and has a prestigious research portfolio including single- and multi-centre randomised controlled trials. The Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit (CTEU) was established in 2002 and is a recognised UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) Clinical Trials Unit. The CTEU has expanded rapidly over the last 12 months to support a growing portfolio of studies and this post is part of that expansion. If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed term or a permanent contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience.
