This workshop will
examine some of the current issues currently affecting HEIs in the recruitment
of PGT & PGR students, including both home and international students.
Topics covered will include: the impact of under-graduate top-up fees on
students continuing to postgraduate study; recruiting postgraduate students who
are returning to education; the impact of the ‘credit-crunch’ on recruitment;
assessing the advantages and disadvantages of online marketing and recruitment;
the impact of the new-points based immigration system on the recruitment of
international students and a look at the current issues in the international
market.
In addition to a series of presentations, delegates will
also have the opportunity to discuss the issues with colleagues from other
institutions in order to understand and develop good-practice within the sector.
This workshop will be of interest to professionals
who have an interest in recruiting postgraduate students including: graduate
deans, heads of graduate schools and administrators; as well as marketing,
recruitment and admissions staff.
