Barts and the London NHS Trust is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the UK with around 8,000 employees and three hospital sites. The Modern Records Management department manages a corporate Records Centre for the storage of Trust non-current records, and also ensures compliance with the Freedom of Information Act. This is a fixed term contract, to assist the work of the Records Management department between 15th June - 30th September 2009 (inclusive). A full-time position is preferred, but flexible working will be considered if necessary, in order to accommodate time required to complete studies (e.g. Dissertation). This post is suitable for a recently qualified Archives and Records Management student, or a student currently studying for this qualification. The successful applicant would have practical experience of working in a Records Centre environment, knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act, and a keen interest in Records Management and Freedom of Information. We are looking for someone able to join the team, learn quickly and 'hit the ground running'. The post-holder must be capable of undertaking routine manual handling duties.
