As part of the International Year of Astronomy, the Cosmic Diary and the 100 Hours of Astronomy events are providing live coverage of the skies in both day and night observing.

There are many events that take place over the weekend but there is one taking place now live, today is "Sun Day" and there is a live webcast taking place on the the Virtual Telescope which can be found at :

The 100 Hours of Astronomy event is already a record breaking event in science communication, bringing together people from all around the world to particiate in real science, from star parties to observing to planetarium shows to live webcasts and science education event and activities.
