FREE places at the Science Communication Conference
22 & 23 June 2009 – Kings Place, London

Rub shoulders with key individuals in the science communication field. Share your experiences and learn from others. Debate the topical issues.

The focus of this year’s conference is ‘Behaviour and Choice’. Should science communicators be influencers of behavioural change?

Apply online for a bursary – conference fees, optional attendance at the conference dinner and up to £250 for accommodation and travel all included. Bursaries are funded by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

Speakers include: writer, broadcaster & commentator Jonathon Porritt, Lord Winston (Imperial College London), Kathy Sykes (University of Bristol) and Clare Matterson (Wellcome Trust), as well as experts from every area of the diverse science communication field.

Bursaries will be awarded in the following categories:

*  freelancers/microbusiness (less than 10 employees)
*  scientists/engineers involved in public engagement
*  campaigning groups
*  UK science communication students

Bursary application deadline: Friday 1 May

Bursary recipients will be selected based on how they intend to disseminate information from the conference to others in their field.
