I am well and he is dying.
He is in pain and I am not.
I am old and he is not.
He was strong as I was never.
I took it easy
while he worked on.
The work he intended has
almost been carried through.
Friendly colleagues will
see it completed.
Doctors and nurses have done
everything they could.
His pain has been eased.
His family has gathered.
His friends are on hand.
He is smiling his goodbyes.
