August, but there is confusion with Pope St Stephen I on 2nd August. Both are
within the Octave of St Peter Ad Vincula [1st August] 

though "sa[nct]i steph[an]i p[a]p[a]" is mentioned at the top of the leaf,

clearly the "illumination" belongs to the Main Feast (or whatever), and is
intended to be a representation 
of "s[an]c[t]i steph[an]i p[ro]thom[arty]r," is it not?
