medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Dear all,

Four pages of views of the damage sustained by the originally thirteenth-century church of Santa Maria di Collemaggio in L'Aquila begin here:
http://tinyurl.com/d7j92n

In the first view, one can see some of the scaffolding (mentioned yesterday by George) that had been erected in connection with maintenance of the facade.

Damage has also been reported at the originally later thirteenth-century church of Santa Maria ad Cryptas in nearby Fossa (AQ). To give you an idea of what's at stake there, here are an illustrated English-language page on that church
http://www.abruzzoheritage.com/magazine/2001_07/0107_a.htm
and a multi-page illustrated website on it in Italian

Best,
John Dillon
