Social networking and online communities are changing the way we do business
- don't miss this one day seminar

ONLINE COMMUNITIES - <http://www.alpsp.org/ngen_public/event.asp?id=9138>
WHAT CAN SCHOLARLY PUBLISHING LEARN FROM OTHER INDUSTRIES?

Tuesday 7 July, London (1000-1630)

Chair: Pam Sutherland, Operations Director, Oxford Journals

Scholarly publishers have much to learn from other industries who are
already taking advantage of social networking and online communities to
drive their core businesses. ALPSP has brought together leading experts and
practitioners from computer games, the specialist press, magazine
publishing, mass-market book publishing, content service providers for
mobile devices and the author of a major US report on collaboration and
social community to show what is happening beyond the scholarly publishing
horizon.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Editorial, Publishing and Marketing Staff and anyone who
has to make or influence future business development decisions.

This ALPSP seminar will use the successful 'Back It or Bin It' format, first
introduced in 2007. Each delegate will be given 500 ALPSP pounds to spend on
any of the investment opportunities presented by the industry experts. How
would you spend your money? Who has taught you the most? Which is the best
investment?
