GIS
Data Consultant with ETL and MapInfo experience
Job
Reference 030408-DESDC
Salary
to £35,000 plus generous benefits
This
role is well suited to an experienced GIS data management professional who is
looking to advance their career within a mainstream GIS outfit. Unlike many companies this client is in
expansion mode and boasts a full forward order book. I am looking for someone who is excited
by the prospect of working with sophisticated spatial data and who thrives on
building industry leading data-driven solutions which can be integrated within
much larger ITC systems.
This
varied and absorbing appointment forms part of a small team of data analysts
involved in several large scale Extract Transform Load (ETL) projects hosted on
the MapInfo platform running FME software and the latest generation of Ordnance
Survey datasets. Although the job
requires a strong technical bias this is no back office role because the client
is a service-driven organisation so you can also expect to become involved in
some professional services activity such as training, consultancy and new
business support.
To
qualify first and foremost you must have advanced to expert level experience of
MapInfo Professional GI technology.
You must be service-driven and be willing to go the extra mile in order
to exceed the client’s expectation.
Your
data management experience should reflect competence on one or more popular
database products such as Oracle Spatial or SQL Server. Perhaps PostgreSQL or
PostGIS.
